Recipe & Suggested Use:
Add one full bag (or desired amount) to a slow cooker or large stockpot and cover with about 6 quarts of water (or enough water to fill within 3 inches below the top rim of the pot). Allow to cook on high for at least one hour, stirring occasionally. Turn down to a low simmer, cover, and cook for another 6 to 8 hours. We recommend using a slow cooker for best results.
Pro Tip: Add a tablespoon or two of Apple Cider Vinegar or Lemon Juice to provide an acid component and help extract even more minerals and vitamins from the mushrooms.
Optional: When your broth is done, you may choose to strain the herbs and mushrooms out, or not. We recommend removing and rinsing your Chaga mushroom chunk and rinsing it off, before allowing it to dry out completely in a cool and dry area or on a paper towel. You can reuse this Chaga chunk 2-4 more times before composting.
Note for Pressure Cookers: Reduce time as needed, we suggest between 90 and 120 minutes in most InstaPots and similar cookers.
Once your broth is ready you can use it as a base for soups, ramens, and more. Consider freezing into ice cube trays or other non-breakable containers for broth all season long!
